Admission modalities

 

Administrative formalities are carried out at the reception desk located on the ground-floor of building A. This team is skilled to assist you at any step of your admission.

For foreign patients, the documents to provide is the international convention form :

  • Temporary migrants (E112)
  • Permanent migrants (E106, E109 or E121)

 

If you do not benefit from a health insurance coverage, if you do not live in France and for any other healthcare not covered by social institutions, you will be asked a deposit.


  • Opening reception hours

From Monday to Friday, from 7.45 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Apart from these days and hours, please apply to the security office located in the courtyard of building A. If you are admitted on Sundays, the paperwork will be done on Monday morning.

  • Daily set price

The daily set price is added to the stays fees. It amounts to € 18.00. You can be refunded provided your mutual insurance company.

  • The rooms

The CAL is equipped with one or two-bedded rooms which are all air-conditioned. The air quality is regularly checked and the windows must be kept closed.

Private room : A reservation form must be filled in at the reception desk. There, all the modalities will be explained to you.
Should you select a private room, an additional fee would have to be settled either by your mutual insurance company upon presentation of a voucher, or by yourself. These rooms are subject to availability.

If your health condition requires a private room and/or an extra bed, and if it is prescribed by your physician, you will not be charge any fee.


Do not forget to provide

 

  • Mandatory documents

To open your medical record you have to provide the following documents :

  • Identity document (identity card or passport or driving licence)
  • The voucher issued by your insurance company for your stay in order to know whether your expenses will be covered.

 

  • Medical documents

X rays and recent medical results (i.e. : mammographies, MRI, CT scan, lab tests…)

  • Prescriptions and Treatments

If you are currently complying with a treatment, do not forget to take your last prescriptions with you as well as your medication. They will be given to the nursing staff. It is important to strictly comply with the treatment prescribed by the physician who may have to modify or quit the medication.

All these documents must be given to the nursing staff of your hospitalization unit. They will be given back to you on the day of your discharge.


Your personal belongings

  • Night linen
  • nightdress or opened pyjama (to facilitate the bandages or perfusions)
  • dressing gown, tight slippers to prevent risks of falls

Your personal clothes will not be washed. You are kindly requested to dress properly in the corridors.

  • Bathroom linen

Towels, flannels, hair-dryer…

  • Bathroom set

Soap, shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brush, shaving kit, brush, comb…


Practical recommendations

  • Hearing and dental prostheses

Put them into their box, especially before going to the operating unit or for any examinations.
Special boxes can be provided by the nursing staff on request.


Do not forget to take off :
  • Jewels
  • Piercing
  • False nails
  • Nail polish


  • Do not take valuables with you

During your stay, you will be asked to leave your room for examinations or medical treatments. While you are away, your valuables will be left unsupervised, thus we suggest not to take them with you.

Keep only the things which are essential with you, i.e. money, credit card, personal keys, identity documents. After inventory, we advise you to leave them in the CAL safe. From Monday to Friday, from 9.00 AM to 12.00 AM and from 2.00 PM to 5.00 PM on working days. They can be collected on the same days and hours.

Ask the health professionals for some information when you arrive in the hospitalization unit. They will show you the way.

Pursuant to the recommendations listed above, the CAL can only be kept liable for the valuables left in the safe.


The CAL regulations


  • Visit hours

The visits are usually authorized every day from 12.00 AM to 9.00 PM. However, these hours may vary in some cases.

Some exceptions

  • In the protected unit (B4) from 12.00 AM. to 8.00 PM One person at the time with obligation to wear a single use outfit.

  • In the continuous health unit (A3) from 2.00 PM to 3.00 PM and from 6.00 PM to 8.00 PM

  • A single use outfit is mandatory. It will be at your disposal.

  • In the radioprotected-controlled unit (B3) (called ZRC) : limited access, please apply to the nursing staff

  • In the surgical unit : for two-bedded rooms only, two persons at the time per patient are admitted.

Visitors must respect the patients' right to get some rest as well as the health professionals' work. If this obligation is not fulfilled, the visitors will be excluded. Therefore, a possible visit exclusion might be decided by the management.

If you want your presence to be anonymous, we will take the necessary action to respect your wish.


  • It is forbidden
  • To come with pets within the hospital, including the entrance hall.
  • To bring flowers. They are forbidden within the hospital for hygienic measures.
  • To bring alcohol beverages and substances
  • To smoke. It is strictly forbidden to smoke within the hospital.
  • To bet money, to trade, to exchange items.
  • To give tips Health professionals are non entitled to accept gratuity. Otherwise, they would be sanctioned.


Security

  • Damages and deterioration

The patient is liable for any damage, deterioration or accident that he might cause. Therefore, it is up to him to check whether his insurance contract covers his personal equipment. On no account, this use must be done without the Management's agreement. This obligation is valid for any devices, including computers.


  • Fire

A smoke detection system is installed within the hospital and the safety guidelines are displayed in the halls. The central security point is located in the courtyard of the building A. Skilled agents see to your safety 24 hours a day.


  • Surveillance cameras

In order to ensure your optimal safety, the CAL is equipped with a video surveillance system, (pursuant to the texts in force, laws N°95-73 of 21st January 1995 and N° 2006-929 of 28th July 2006. Decrees N° 96-926 of 17th October 1996 and N° 2006-929 of 28th July 2006).For any question regarding the video surveillance access, please call Mr Demade-Pellorce (04 92 03 15 08).


  • Tobacco free hospital

The CAL is a tobacco free hospital. A lung specialist in tobacco addiction can assist you, should you decide to quit smoking. Consultation days : Tuesday and Friday afternoons. To arrange an appointment, please call 04 92 03 11 00.


 

Welfare, services

  • Accomodation and extra meals for accompanying relatives.

You can have your meals with an accompanying person in your room by buying a ticket at the cafeteria the day before. Breakfast is € 4.00 and lunch or dinner € 9.10.

In agreement with your physician, an extra bed can be installed in your room (for the one-bedded rooms only).

All the settlements will be made at the cafeteria on the ground floor of the building A.


  • The meals

They are served in your room at the following hours :

Breakfast                 from 7.00 AM

Lunch                      from 11.45 AM

Snack                      from 3.30 PM

Dinner                      from 7.00 PM


All of them are prepared in CAL by cooks in collaboration with dieticians who see to the patient's nutritional balance. Should you comply with a specific diet or should you have food allergies, please inform the nursing staff. The dieticians can assist you in choosing an appropriate meal according to your health condition.


  • The cafeteria / Press

Opening hours from 8.00 AM to 4.30 PM from Monday to Friday and from 11.00 AM to 5.00 PM at week-ends.

Located on the ground floor of building A, the cafeteria offers drinks, fast-food catering (sandwiches, salads, dairy products, desserts).  You will also find newspapers and gifts, and enjoy the sunny veranda. It is a non smoking area (veranda included).

Different machines are available, providing drinks, sandwiches, sweets and fresh fruits. They are located on the ground floor of building A, B and C.


  • The phone

All the rooms are equipped with a phone. Should you wish to open a line, please apply to the cafeteria, on the ground floor of building A. A number will be allotted to you. A € 10.00 fee will be payable by cheque or in cash, including € 4.00 to open the line and € 6.00 as a down payment on your future calls, equivalent to nearly 60 minutes of local calls.

In addition, there are three phone boxes : one on the ground floor of building A, one on the Day Hospital unit on the 2nd floor of building A, and one at the radiotherapy reception desk. You will find phone cards at the cafeteria.

Mobile Phones : The Health Ministry guidelines n° 40 of 9th October 1995 prohibit the use of mobile phones within the healthcare center as they may disturb the medical devices.


 

  • Television

A television set is available with a free access to channel 2. To have access to other channels, please apply to the cafeteria, on the ground floor of building A. The fee is € 3.80 per day, then  € 2.25 from the 6th day and € 1.45 from the 15th day. It is payable in advance, by credit card, cheque or in cash.


  • Internet

Today, only the rooms of the protected unit (B4) and the radioprotected controlled unit rooms of B3 (called ZRC), are equipped with a brand new internet/TV device.

  • € 4.10 per day the first five days

  • € 2.50 per day, from the 6th day

  • € 1.60 per day from the 15th day

To activate the access, please ask the cafeteria located on the ground floor of building A.


  • Mail

You can receive mail. A person is in charge of the regular delivery of mail and can also give you your money orders. To have your mail consigned, please ask the secretarial unit, wherever you are.


  • Hairdresser

This new service is available on Mondays form 10.00 AM to 12.00 AM and from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM. Ask the health professionals. The settlement is to pay to the hairdresser.


  • Interpreters

You can be assisted by interpreters. Please ask the health professionals.


  • Cult

All religions are respected within the center. A specific place of worship is open 24 hours a day if you wish to pray. It is located in the tunnel, between the buildings A and B.
